These pages provide information on, and guidance produced by, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) regional statisticians working in the East Midlands. You can access a range of resources including: training materials and guidance, draft analyses, newsletters, the database and economic briefings.
Who are we?
We are a team of two working for the Office for National Statistics and based in the East Midlands.
What do we do?
-
• Work with ONS, other Government Departments and regional partners to improve statistics for the region, including quality assurance of regional estimates such as GVA, GDHI, ABI and ASHE and improving the Inter Departmental Business Register
-
• Act as a two communication channel between ONS and colleauges in the region. Give advice and guidance on access to, and the use of, statistics.
-
• Data for the evidence bases underpinning the Regional Economic Strategy and the monitoring report for the Regional Spatial Strategy
-
• Facilitate training in the region in conjunction with IEM
-
• Analyse information relevant to the East Midlands
-
• Provide access to microdata
What can we do for you?
We can offer tailored seminars, training and other advice on data availability, where to find it and how it can be used. We also offer links to statistical providers in ONS and other Government Departments and can offer advice on local sources of information. If you are thinking of commissioning a reseach project we can also offer advice on specification of any statistics to be used.
