This report from the esp partnership outlines a framework for a set of effective, sustainable and integrated solutions for tackling employability and worklessness through joint service planning, delivery and co-investment.
Tackling worklessness and social exclusion was identified as one of the priorities by the East Midlands esp (Employment, Skills and Productivity Partnership) when it reviewed its activities in the light of the Regional Economic Strategy (RES). A Task and Finish Group was formed to lead on the priority and Martin Yarnit Associates were commissioned early in 2007 to produce a framework for a set of effective, sustainable and integrated solutions for tackling employability and worklessness through joint service planning, delivery and co-investment. This is the report of that commission.
The report includes chapters on:
-
The nature and scale of the problem in the East Midlands
-
Recommendations on planning and coordination, local delivery, employer engagement and investment.
-
