Here is a list of some of the key strategies for the region.  Use the links to access the strategies.


Integrated Regional Strategy
The East Midlands Regional Assembly's Integrated Regional Strategy (IRS) provides a guiding framework for achieving a more sustainable region and integration in policy making. The 'State of the Region' report produced by the Assembly charts progress in achieving the sustainable development objectives of the region's Integrated Regional Strategy framework.  Click here to access the strategy.
Regional Economic Strategy
Click here for the Regional Economic Strategy 2006 - 2020.  The evidence base for the strategy is hosted on this website, click here to access this.
Regional Environmental Strategies
A range of environmental strategies and documents including the Regional Environment Strategy, the Regional Bio Diversity Strategy and the Regional Water Resources strategy can be accessed from the Regional Assembly's website.  Also available are the Regional Energy Strategy and the Regional Waste Strategy
Regional Spatial Strategies
You can view the current Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) on the Government Office for the East Midlands (GOEM) website.  It is the responsibility of the East Midlands Regional Assembly to develop and keep under review the Regional Spatial Strategy. The Assembly is now in the process of reviewing the Regional Plan to bring it fully into line with the legislation.  Click here for more information on the review. 

The GOEM site also has details of the Milton Keynes South Midlands (MKSM) sub-regional strategy.

Public Health Strategy
Investment for Health, the regional public health strategy was published by the East Midlands Regional Assembly's public health task group in April 2003. Click here to access the strategy. 
Urban Action Plan 2005 - 2011
Sets out the framework for Urban Renaissance in the East Midlands. Click here to access the document on the East Midlands Development Agency's (emda) website. 
Rural Action Plan

The Rural Action Plan sets out a high level vision for the rural East Midlands in 2013 and identifies the policy areas that require ongoing focus and a step change to improve delivery for the benefit of rural areas, businesses and communities.

Regional Housing Strategies
The Regional Housing Strategy is produced by the Regional Housing Board. Click here to access the strategy and related documents held on the GOEM website.
ESP Action Plan
The Employment, Skills and Productivity partnership is led by emda and brings together partners who support employment, skills and productivity in the region. Click here to acces the ESP action plan.
The Midlands Way
'Smart Growth: The Midlands Way' sets out a Midlands response to the challenges of the Sustainable Communities Plan led by the two Midlands Regional Development Agencies. Click here to access further information and a consultation document (produced Feb 05) from emda's website.
East Midlands International Trade Strategy

East Midlands Tourism Strategy 2003 - 2010

Regional Cultural Strategy
'The Place of Choice', the regional cultural strategy for 2006-11 has been produced by the East Midlands Cultural Consortium. Click here for the Arts Council England East Midlands' priorities for children, young people and the arts.
Regional Museums Strategy 2002 - 2007
The Regional Museums Strategy is published by the East Midlands Museums Service.
